This policy applies to Scopix LLC, our website, API services, visual intelligence platform, the Scopix CCTV product, and the Scopix iPhone app. It explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you. Camera footage and how the mobile app handle it are covered in Section 5.

Welcome to Scopix LLC ("Scopix," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our visual intelligence platform, including our website at scopix.ai, our API services, our CCTV product, and the Scopix iPhone app.
By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of our services immediately.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect basic information including your name, email address, and organization details. This information is necessary to provide and secure our services.
2.2 Visual Content
Our visual intelligence platform processes images and visual content you submit through our API or web interface. This content is temporarily processed for analysis and verification purposes only.
2.3 Usage Data
We collect technical information about how you use our services, including API usage patterns, request frequency, response times, and system performance metrics. This data helps us improve our services and ensure optimal performance.
2.4 Device Information
We may collect information about the devices you use to access our services, including IP addresses, browser types, and operating system information for security and optimization purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Processing and Visual Intelligence
Our visual intelligence platform processes images using advanced AI algorithms to provide verification, description, and analysis services. During processing:
We do not use your visual content to train our models or improve our algorithms without explicit consent.
5. CCTV Footage and the Scopix Mobile App
The Scopix CCTV product processes video from cameras operated by our business customers. This footage may contain images of identifiable people, including a customer's staff and members of the public. The following describes how that data, and our iPhone app, work.
5.1 Our role (controller vs. processor)
For camera footage and anything derived from it, the customer who operates the cameras is the data controller and Scopix acts as a data processor on that customer's documented instructions, under a Data Processing Agreement. The customer is responsible for having a lawful basis for the recording and for providing any notices, signage, or consents their jurisdiction requires. For your account and usage data, Scopix is the controller.
5.2 What we process from footage
We process recorded video segments and single frames, and we generate metadata from them: AI scene descriptions, detected objects and events, and — only where the customer explicitly enables it — vehicle licence-plate reads. To produce descriptions and alerts, individual frames are sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) under data processing agreements; these providers act as our sub-processors and do not use the content to train their models. Our current sub-processors are listed in our sub-processor register (available on request).
5.3 Retention
Unless a customer configures a shorter period, recorded footage is retained for 30 days, licence-plate reads for 90 days, and alert records for 365 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Deleting an account removes the associated footage and derived data.
5.4 The Scopix mobile app
The Scopix iPhone app is an alert-triage tool. It shows alerts, available evidence thumbnails, previously stored alert clips, retained-recording playback, and near-live camera snapshots over short-lived signed links. New clip and evidence-bundle export is not currently available. The app requests no camera, microphone, or photo-library permission, and performs no facial recognition. Your session credentials are held in the device keychain.
5.5 Push notifications
If you enable notifications, alert pushes are delivered through the Apple Push Notification service (APNs). A notification may include a short AI-generated description of the detected event and the camera name, which can appear on your lock screen; this content transits Apple's servers to reach your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings or in the app.
7. Security
We implement enterprise-grade security measures to protect your information:

- Secure data centers with physical and logical access controls
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

10. Third-Party Services
Our platform integrates with third-party services to provide comprehensive visual intelligence capabilities:

11. Age Restrictions
Our services are not intended for individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use our services or provide any personal information.

Our services are provided from the United States. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
